How joining a networking group will benefit a SAHM's small business

Wake up.  Change diapers.  Make breakfast. Clean.  Maybe take care of yourself.  Clean again.  Prepare more food. Clean up some more.  Play.  Play some more.  Hubby is home, day is over.

Being an entrepreneur means that after my kids shut down for the night, I usually hit the keyboard at a fierce pace.  Research some content, write some content, sometimes multiples in one night just to try and stay ahead of the game.  Work on my online store, my website, read some awesome Social Media Examiner, then hit the hay.

Networking is a must, and we need to do it one on one.

This routine I just described is pretty typical of a Stay at Home Mom (SAHM) with a small business.  This is why I wanted to focus on some other methods of conducting business.  Networking.  Whether it is a dog walking company, a tutoring business, an online store or a massage therapist - networking is a must, and we need to do it one on one.  Let's step away from using only social marketing and join a local networking group.  Why you ask?

Socializing = Conversions

Personable people who make an effort to go out and talk about their business and/or product without hesitation will succeed.  You will watch your sales conversion ratio go through the roof.  Especially women. Why?  We love to talk!  Join a networking group that is local and even make it a 'women's only' if you like. Then there is less intimidation and you will have common grounds with most of these women.

Networking = Virality

When you get talking with a bunch of entrepreneurs, and get to know one another, you will find that by establishing trust you are establishing a method of spreading the word.  How many times have you met someone, had a conversation around a particular subject like a Bootcamp or something, then unknowingly spread the word about that same Bootcamp?  We all have!  Networking creates buzz.  People like to refer, it is natural.

Networking Groups = Getting out of the House

Remember that routine I described earlier...of course you do - it is pretty much the norm.  This is a way to get out of the house, meet new people and be childless for a few hours!  Sounds great right?  This can happen for you too!

Getting out of the House = More Sales

We have it tough ladies.  SAHM's are busy, busy people.  Ones that run their own business are crazy, but most of us are doing it within the confines of our own 4 walls using social media.  What we forget is we need to get out of the house to generate more sales.  Networking naturally converts to more sales in the long run and creates further reach and stronger local reach.

Don't judge your business and think it is not worthy of a networking group. All businesses are worthy of a networking group.  There is so much to learn, so many experienced people just eager to share their wealth of knowledge, and this forces us out of our shell and into a brand new world of connections we may never have connected with at this level online.
